How to Make a Scarf Using Marvelous Designer

Here's a quick introduction on how you can quickly make a scarf in Marvelous Designer to keep your 3D characters warm for the winter.
Supplies
Marvelous Designer
Autodesk Maya
Rectangle

Using the draw polygon tool, draw out a rectangle in the 2D viewport.
Pin Tool

Now using the pin tool, add three pins to "hold" the scarf after you press Spacebar to simulate the cloth.
Move Into Place

By clicking on the red pins, move the pins with the gizmo so the scarf rests flush on the character's neck.
Delete Pin / Add Geo

By clicking on the pin on the back, you can delete the pin so it is no longer being held. Now its looking more like a scarf. To give it more polygons, click on the attribute panel and lower the "Particle Distance (mm)" number. It was at default 20 but I reduced it to 10 to give it more geo.
Fold Scarf

Using more pins, tie the scarf as you would in real life. This part is extremely satisfying as you can manipulate the cloth with real-world physics. After the shape is to satisfaction, delete all pins so the scarf lays flat.
Fringes

Add rectangles using the rectangle view in the 2D viewport and duplicate them until you get the desired amount. Using the sewing tool, sew these fringes back onto the main scarf. Repeat on the other side.
Export

Once the fringes are done, simulate in the 3D viewport using Spacebar and try to move around your scarf until you are happy with how it looks. Now you can export it out as an fbx.
Final

Import the mesh into your desired 3D program, and viola, you are finished!
