How to Make a Scabbard for Your Sting Sword.

Sting is Frodo's and Bilbo's sword in the lord of the rings and the hobbit. It seems like a lot of people on instructables made a step by step on how to make the sword itself but no one made the scabbard yet so I figured I'd be the first.

TRACE YOUR SWORD.

For this step you will need cardboard but not the corrugated kind. Use the thin kind. Put your sword on it and trace it about an inch from the blade from the hilt down. Cut out the traced sword and trace it and then cut that out. Now tape the two together but leave an opening at the top so that you can slide the sword in. I would give you the size dimensions but mine is homemade so I don't know if the size of mine is the same as the size of most of the replicas.

Detail Time

First use hot glue to do all the detail work on it. Just squirt out the glue where all the lines and leafage is. Once it is dry paint brown on the mid section of it but stop where the detail begins.

Silver on the Detail

Now use silver or aluminum paint and paint it all over the detail work. Be careful not to get it on the brown. Now you are done.  Enjoy!

By the way, if you are into harry potter and stuff, check my instructables every now and then because I will soon be making instructions on how to make George Weasley's wand.
