How to Make a Poke Bowl
As a college student, I am always looking for quick and easy meals to make on a budget. Poke bowls are just that as they are delicious and healthy! This meal is perfect to make with your roommates and only takes about 15 minutes. Come follow along in this Instructable as we make a poke bowl.
Supplies
Serving Size: 2
Kitchen Utensils:
- Air fryer
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Bowls
- Measuring spoons
Ingredients:
- 2 salmon fillets
- shredded carrots
- 1 cucumber
- 1 avocado
- green onion
- 1 pack jasmine rice from Trader Joe's
- soy sauce
- sesame oil
- honey
- sesame seeds
- salt
- pepper
- Trader Joe's salmon rub
- apple cider vinegar
- spicy mayo
Defrost Salmon
- Place 2 pieces of salmon on a plate and place into the microwave.
- Press the defrost button.
- Enter in 1lb and click start.
- Flip the salmon over when the microwave stops.
- Press start again and wait till the microwave timer ends.
Air Fryer
- Place salmon into air fryer and season:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Trader Joe's salmon rub
- 370 degrees for 10 minutes
- Make sure to cut the salmon open after to ensure that it is cooked all the way, if not you can place it in for 5 more minutes.
The Base
- Grab your jasmine rice and heat for 3 minutes.
Vegetables
- Begin cutting vegetables while salmon and rice is cooking:
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 strand of green onion
Cucumber Salad
- Grab your chopped cucumbers and place them into a bowl.
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp honey
- Sesame seeds
- Mix together
Build Poke Bowl
Now that the salmon and rice are done cooking, you can begin to build your bowl.
- Place 1/2 of the rice packet into your bowl
- Place 1 piece of salmon
- Add cucumber salad
- Add other vegetables
- Top with spicy mayo sauce
