How to Make a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

IMG-0958 (1).jpg

In this Instructable we will learn how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (PB&J).

BEFORE BEGINNING:

If you have food allergies do not participate (check ingredients before beginning).

You may get messy, make sure you roll up your sleeves, and wash your hands.

Keep small children away from the knife if it is sharp.

Supplies

To begin: make sure you have a plate, a knife, a loaf of bread (your preference on what kind, I am using Honey wheat in this instructable), a jar of peanut butter, and a jar or tube of jelly.

Begin

First remove the bread bag twisty tie, and take 2 pieces of bread out of the bag.

Prepare Sandwich Bread

Place the bread slices horizontally on the plate with the white of the bread facing up.

Prepare Peanut Butter and Jelly

Next, Screw the top off of the peanut butter jar, and open the jelly container.

Utilize the Peanut Butter

Take your knife, and scoop about a tablespoon (or preferable amount) of peanut butter on the knife.

Apply the Peanut Butter

Spread the peanut butter evenly on one slice of bread (on the side that is facing up).

Apply the Jelly

Once all the peanut butter is off of the knife, take the jelly, and squeeze a tablespoon (or preferable amount) onto the second slice of bread.

Spread the Jelly

IMG-0977.jpg

Spread the jelly with the knife evenly onto the second piece of bread (on the side that faces up).

Finish Using Bread, Peanut Butter, and Jelly

IMG-0978.jpg

Tie the bread bag up with the twisty tie, screw the lid onto the peanut butter jar, and close the jelly container.

Combine the Sandwich Halves

IMG-0984.jpg

Place the pieces of bread together sot that the jelly and the peanut butter are touching, and the clean sides of the bread are on the outside. When you look at your sandwich you should see from top to bottom: (bread, peanut butter, jelly, bread, plate).

Cut the Sandwich

Now, you cut the sandwich into triangles by making a diagonal cut from the top right corner, across the middle, straight across to the bottom left corner. You should finish with 2 equal sized triangles.

(Optional) Cut the Crust Off

If you do not like crust on sandwiches, you may choose to cut the crust off with your knife so that the entire perimeter is gone, and you only have the white of the bread left. (Make sure you are only cutting off the brown edge, nothing else.) You do not have to do this step if you don't want to.

Eat the Sandwich

Enjoy your sandwich!
