The supplies you will need for this project are:

  • 2 colors of paracord
  • A buckle
  • Scissors
  • A lighter
  • Superglue (optional)

Cutting the Paracord

Using paracord, you'll want to cut each color paracord a little less than your wingspan, in order to have enough to complete this bracelet.

Burning the Ends

For this step, burn one end of each color paracord with a lighter, and attach the two together while they're still hot. You have to be sure to do this very quickly, to ensure you can connect the ends to make one long piece of paracord. If the ends dry before you are able to attach them, cut off the burned piece and try again.

Loop one end of the buckle through the middle of the two paracord pieces (where the burned ends meet). Then Wrap that loop under the buckle so that way your buckle is now looped into your paracord string.

Next, unclip the buckle from the top of your bracelet so that you have one end of the buckle unattached. Thread that through the open ends of your paracord bracelet. Then, clip the buckle together around your wrist to form a bracelet shape. This is how you'll be measuring how long to make your bracelet. But remember to add plenty of wiggle room in between your wrist and the bracelet.

Before starting your bracelet, you want to lay it down on a flat surface. This makes it easier to tie the knots. For this bracelet, you make the knots by making a number "4" with one end of your string like seen above. The color you choose to make this "4" will be in the middle of the bracelet, and the opposite color will line the edges. Once you make the number "4" shape, you then thread the opposite color on the outermost cord on the opposite side of the "4" under all of the strings and through the "hole" in the "4" as seen above.

For the next knot, you make another "4" shape, but this time, it will look backwards. Then, repeat the rest of step 5 to finish the knot

More Knots

Continue steps 4 and 5 to tie knots in the "4" shape until your bracelet is the desired length.

The first couple knots of your bracelet won't look like much, but you will really start to see your bracelet start to form as you continue to tie the knots.

Once your bracelet is to your desired length, cut the remaining ends of the paracord so that there is only about 1/4-1/2 an inch sticking from the ends of a bracelet. Then, using a lighter, very carefully burn the remaining ends of the paracord to make them flush with the sides of the bracelet.

Optional: You can also add super glue to the ends after burning them to make them more secure.
