How to Make a Paper Airplane

There are many ways on how to make a paper airplane and so many type of papers you can use. However, below are step by step of a simple way to make your own plane, using a two-toned, regular sized paper.

STEP 1

Fold your sheet of paper in half, then open the paper back up. To get the fold as symmetrical as possible, try to line up the corners and smooth out the paper from there.

Step 2

Fold each upper corner down to the middle line, so that the upper edge of the paper is parallel to the middle line from the first fold. The corners should be touching each other.

STEP 3

The paper now looks like a triangle sitting on a square. Fold the triangle down right where the edge is made by the last fold.

STEP 4

Turn the paper over and leaving about an inch and a half at the top of the plane, fold the top two corners down until they meet in the center of the paper, and then fold up a small triangle over those two corners. This small triangle will keep everything held together. Step 5: Fold the paper in half along the same fold from step 1, but this time fold it so that all the folds you have done thus far are visible on the outside.

STEP 5

Fold the upper edge down to meet the lower edge, keeping them parallel. Smooth the fold from the nose of the plane to the back, making sure the paper doesn’t shift as you move. Repeat this step on the other side.

STEP 6

If you followed the steps correctly, you should now have a fairly basic but very well made paper airplane. Try to keep your trajectory straight as you throw, and have fun!
