Making rings is fun and its a great time killer, literally it takes about a day to two days to make a really nice metal ring. I'm going to show you a cheap and easy way to make a ring.

Materials

I used

.60 to a 100 grit sandpaper

.A black marker

.PVC tube 1/2 inch diameter (but you will have to find what fits on your finger smoothly)

.A saw

Sawing the PVC

Next you will saw the PVC tube to the desired width first mark were your going to cut with the marker all the way around the PVC tube. Make sure you mark it a little bit wider than you think because all the sanding is going to take away a lot of that mass that's there. After your all the way through you should have a ring that looks like the picture directly above next its time to sand.

Sanding

next you will take the PVC ring and clamp it in a vise. (make sure you dong tighten it too much you will crack the PVC And have to restart)

next start with a thin strip of sandpaper, and run in through the ring, sanding the edges down so they don't cut your finger.

once you have it roughly smoothed out remove it from vise and grab finish sandpaper (meaning fine grit) to smooth everything out and clean it up.

once sanded down. make sure ring slips easily on and off your finger. If you feel any high spots or spots that are sharp remove and sand some more.

sand till you are happy.

side note: this is an extremely old post that I never finished quite a few years back. I'm just posting it for fun.
