How to Make a Monogrammed Flower Pot

Check out this tutorial by Robin from LilyLane Decor and Design where she demonstrates how to make your own DIY, monogrammed flower pot with Country Chic Paint products!
Supplies:
- Clay or terracotta pot
- Stencil made out of card stock, or plastic
- Spray adhesive
- Country Chic Paint’s Texture Powder
- Two contrasting colours of Country Chic Paint
- Paint brush
- Container for mixing
- Spoon to mix
- Putty knife for spreading
- Sandpaper
- Plants and soil
- Country Chic Paint’s Crackle Medium (optional)
- Country Chic Paint’s Antiquing Wax or Glaze (optional)
Prep Your Stencil

Create or purchase a stencil in the design of your choice, if you have a craft cutter and want to use the same designs I’ve used, check out my etsy shop and use coupon code COUNTRYCHIC to get the monogram cutting files for free!

Mix Texture Powder and paint in approximately a 1:1 ratio in a resealable container until you have the consistency of toothpaste.
Apply Your Stencil

Spray the back of your stencil with spray adhesive. Allow it to dry until it’s slightly tacky and position on the pot.
Apply Textured Paint

Spread your Texture Powder/paint mix over the stencil with a putty knife.
Peel Off Stencil

Remove the stencil, smooth any overly peaked areas and allow to dry.
Paint Entire Pot

Sand if desired and paint pot with the same colour you mixed with texture powder earlier. Allow this to dry for about 1-2 hours.
Apply Crackle Medium (optional)

Apply Crackle Medium if desired and allow it to dry for a few hours until it’s completely dry.
Paint Pot Again

Paint your pot with a contrasting colour and allow it to dry.
Distress

Sand and distress – especially around the embossed area – to make the embossing stand out.
Wax or Glaze (optional)

Apply Antiquing Wax or Glaze in your color of your choice to add extra depth and dimension to your project. Allow to dry.
Plant

Fill with your favourite plant and show it off!
