How to Make a Light Up Angler Fish!

Anglerfish Circuit Homework

This is my circuit project using LED lights. I wanted to create a clever image that expressed an actual feature of what I was drawing. When I thought about what I wanted to draw, I realized there's nothing better than an angler fish! I hope you enjoy following along.

Supplies

  1. 2 pieces of paper
  2. Pencil
  3. Eraser
  4. Pen
  5. Markers
  6. Exacto Knife
  7. Scissors
  8. Copper Tape
  9. 2 Led Lights
  10. Coin cell battery

Draw Design in Pencil

Using the larger or thicker paper, draw your design of an angler fish. I used a few images from Google as a reference while drawing.

Draw Final Image in Pen and Marker

Go over the pencil with pen and marker. Add details as you like. After the pen dries, erase the pencil drawing.

Cut Out Holes for LED Lights

The eye and illicium will be the spots for LED lights. Use the exacto knife to cut out those areas.

Start Under Layer for Circuit

Using the second piece of paper, mark where the holes were cut on the top layer. Then start planning the circuit. Place the LED Lights. Determine the path of the copper tape and the placement of the battery. Draw these plans using a pencil.

Make Circuit

Once you start to make the circuit, use copper tape to secure the LED lights down. Once the tape is placed, try out the circuit with your battery!

Place Drawing Over Circuit

With your circuit, you are now ready for the final step which is to place the drawing of the angler fish over the circuit. Tape or glue these two papers together and you're all done! Great job!
