When starting a fire, you want to get some gas and put a little on with nothing lit. Pouring gas on a fire that is lit is not smart, because fire will travel up a stream of gas and that makes for some scary encounters with gas. If it needs something to help it keep going then put some diesel fuel on it. Diesel burns longer, is hotter, and will give you time to put it on and get out of harm’s way.

Enjoy Your Fire

Make sure you will let the fire burn out, so you do not have to put water on it. The reason being that all the ash mixed with water makes a rock, so let it burn out. After a few hours, your fire is doing fine and is a good time to let it burn out. If you would like your fire to continue, put some more wood on it.
