How to Make a Epic Decorative Wall Clock

How to Design & Build a Custom Designer Metal Wall Clock (DIY Wall decor).
Supplies

Materials Used to Make the Wall Clock
- Hula Hoop Ring - 60 cm Diameter
- RO Pipe - 10 mm OD (Outer Diameter)
- Acrylic Sheet (Black) – 5 mm thick, size 26 × 26 cm
- Acrylic Sheet (White) – 5 mm thick, size 36 × 36 cm
- ACP Sheet (Bronze) - 3 mm thick, size 20 × 20 cm
- MDF Sheet (pink) –
- 25 × 25 cm (2 piece for the black acrylic)
- 35 × 35 cm (2 piece for the white acrylic)
- 20 × 20 cm (1 piece for the ACP sheet)
- Metal Rod – Diameter 6 mm
Making the Curved Rod Frame

Now, heat the 6 mm metal rod and gently bend it to the required shape as shown in the reference. Once the rod is shaped and cooled, cover it with a 10 mm RO pipe to give it a neat and finished look
Attach Wooden Pieces to Frame

Next, drill 10 mm holes in the wooden pieces, then carefully align and attach them to the metal rod frame to form a strong and stable structure
Base Structure of Clock

The wall clock base is constructed by cutting concentric rings from the MDF board using a router and compass jig. The 60 cm Hula Hoop frame is then securely attached to these rings using small, evenly spaced wooden block spacers and strong adhesive.
Final Structure

The clock's base structure is formed by screwing thin wooden plates onto two large, hooped rings which sandwich and secure several 10 mm rod structure running horizontally through their centers. This assembly is integrated within the green 60 cm Hula Hoop to form the reinforced, elongated frame.
Paint the Clock

The clock frame's final appearance is achieved by spray painting the visible structural components black, including the 60 cm Hula Hoop and the RO pipes.
Decorative Acrylic Layering Instructions

- Using a router compass, cut large white and black acrylic circles to match the size of the underlying wooden rings, removing the protective film as you cut.
- Cut concentric rings from the black acrylic and layer them onto the smaller wooden ring, while cutting a large solid disc from white acrylic for the main clock face.
- Carefully glue the black acrylic ring onto the small painted wooden hoop and the large white acrylic disc onto the big painted wooden hoop.
- Finally, center and glue the small bronze/brown circle to the end of the horizontal spoke structure, completing the decorative layers before mounting the clock mechanism.
Final Timepiece

To finish the clock, carefully mark the twelve hour positions on the white acrylic face and glue the black acrylic numbers and markers into place. Then, mount the clock movement to the back of the disc, attach the hour, minute, and second hands to the shaft, and test the mechanism.
Clock Is Ready to Hang

The final steps involve completing the clock face and mounting the entire structure.
- After attaching the clock hands and ensuring the movement is functional, the finished clock is a striking piece featuring a black frame, white acrylic face, and layered bronze accents.
- The resulting clock, with its large 60 cm hula hoop frame and distinctive 10 mm RO pipe spokes, is ready to be mounted to a large wall.
- Securely hang the completed, large-scale contemporary clock to instantly become the focal point of any high-ceilinged room or living area.
