Round 1:-

Start with a Magic Circle.

Chain 4(the starting Chain 3 will be counted as a Double Crochet and the remaining stitch will be counted as Chain 1 space)

1 Double Crochet

Chain 1

Repeat(1DC,Ch 1) untill you have 12 Double Crochets.

Slip Stitch into the 3rd Chain.

Round 2:-

Slip Stitch into the Chain Space.

Chain 2

2 Double Crochets in the same space.

Repeat (2DC) in each of the chain spaces.

Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

24 Stitches.

Round 3:-

Chain 2.

1 Double Crochet

1 Double Crochet(change yarn color while pulling the yarn through the last 2 loops), 

1 Front Post Treble Crochet in the stitch from the previous round i.e. Round 1(change back to the first yarn color while pulling the yarn through the last 2 loops)) - this makes 1 increase 

Repeat(1DC,(1DC,1FPtrbl(in the previous round))

Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

36 Stitches.

How to make a Front Post Treble Crochet??...here it is.....!!

  • Yarn over hook twice, Insert the hook under the stitch i.e from the front of the stitch to the back of the stitch and Pull up a loop(4 loops on hook). 
  • Yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook (3 loops remain on hook). 
  • Yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook).
  • Yarn over, pull 2 loops on hook (1 treble crochet complete).

Round 4:-

Chain 2.

(2 Double Crochets , Chain 1, 2 Double Crochets in the next stitch) - that's the 1st Corner made.

1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.

1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.

1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.

Repeat((2DC,Ch1,2DC in the next St),1HDC*2,1SC*3,1HDC*2)

Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

44 Stitches, 4 Chain 1 spaces.

Round 5:-

Chain 2.

1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill you reach the Corner.

In the Chain 1 Space make - (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets)- that's the corner made.

Repeat(1DC in each stitch untill corner),(2DC,Ch2,2dc)-in corner stitches)

Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet and weave off.

***If you wish to make a large size square, then keep repeating Round 5 untill the size needed.
