How to Make a Diagonal Chevron Ring

Hello! Today I will show you how to make a diagonal chevron ring. This ring is super simple and only requires one kind of knot. I hope you find my instructable worthwhile! :)

Materials needed (Required materials are bolded)

• string (TWO or more)(any color or colors)(each about the length of your arm)
• tape(optional)
• scissors(or anything that cuts)
• hard surface(optional)
• nail polish(CLEAR)(optional) OR MOD PODGE (optional)

Once you have chosen your strings, line them up in the order you want the lines. I am making an ombre, so I ordered them to look like an ombre. I chose silver, white, and 3 shades of pink, so I lined them up like this:

1. silver
2. white
3. pastel pink
4. pink
5. dark pink

After you have laid out your strings in the order you like, tie a regular knot up top. this will set the first boundary for your ring. Make sure there are at least 2 or 3 inches above the knot, so it's easier to tie it at the end.

(Tape the 2-3 inches to your hard surface, or find a different way where it won't fall down when you are tying the knots.)

once everything is in place, do two backward knots on each string(see pictures and videos)

continue to do the backward knots and it should look somewhat like the pictures (I'm sorry, it's really hard to explain how to do a knot...)

once the pattern is at the right length to wrap around your finger, tie another regular knot like the one we did before the pattern(see video for better understanding).

using the extra string at both ends, tie them together using a normal knot(see pictures for more detail). cut off the extra that's hanging down.

apply the nail polish or mod podge to the bind at the ends, so it doesn't come loose as easily.
