How to Make a Delicious Green Smoothie
How to make a delicious green smoothie. This is great anytime, but especially for workout recovery (the whey protein and greek yogurt add a high protein content to the smoothie).
Equipment:
Blender
Measuring Cups
Ingredients:
2-4 cups of spinach
1-2 leaves kale
2 tablespoons flax seed
1 packet stevia
1-2 cups water
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 cup plain greek yogurt
1 banana
1 orange
2 cup strawberries
1 cups blueberries
NOTE: Fruit can be fresh or frozen. If using fresh fruit, consider adding ice when blending to chill smoothie.

Wash Greens and Fruit
Wash your spinach and kale. Also wash any fresh fruit that might need it.
Mixing the Greens
Add 2-4 cups washed spinach, 1-2 leaves washed kale, 1 packet stevia, 1 scoop vanilla whey protein, 2 tablespoons flax seed, and 1-2 cups water to blender. Mix until it reaches a uniform consistency, usually for about 30 seconds.
NOTE: Stevia is a calorie free, natural sweetener you can buy at most stores; a common brand is Truvia. Also, the stevia, greek yogurt, vanilla whey protein, and fruit do a great job of burying the taste of the kale and spinach, giving you more liberty to add more spinach and kale to the smoothie.

Blend It!
Add 1 cup plain greek yogurt, 1 banana, 1 orange, 2 cups strawberries, and 1 cup blueberries. Mix on whole juice or puree setting (or for 1-2 minutes until smoothies shows uniform color and consistency).
NOTE: If using frozen fruit, add soft fruits first. In addition, the greek yogurt can be omitted; however, I've found that it really gives a smoother and thicker consistency as well as masking the taste of the spinach and kale, which I enjoy.

Enjoy!
Drink up and share with your family, friends, or dog, mine loves it! This usually makes approximately 50 oz. of green smoothie.
NOTE: If you enjoy a runnier consistency, consider adding more water. The flavor will still be the same but it won't be as thick. Also, experiment with a variety of fruits to keep things interesting. The blueberries turn the smoothie pink initially, which works great for tricking the kids into drinking it.

Store for Later
Store remaining green smoothie in a glass or pitcher in the fridge (be sure to cover). Separation will occur, so be sure to mix well before drinking. Smoothie will be good for up to 2 days after blending (I actually like it better the next day).
