How to Make a DIY Clipboard
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to make a DIY clipboard. This can be super useful while jotting down notes, sketching, doodling, and probably some other things I didn't think of. So, we are going to get started.
Supplies
To make your DIY clipboard you are going to need:
- 1 sheet of cardboard
- 5 sheets of paper
- 1 large binder clip
- Hot glue gun
- Pen
- Hammer
- Needle
- Pencil
- Knife
- Scissors
Now that we have everything, we are going to start making your clipboard.
The Base
We are going to start by making a base. Cut a piece of cardboard to be big enough to fit half a sheet of printer paper and a little extra room on the side for your pen to fit there.
Perforating
Cut your sheets of paper in half. Put them all into a neat stack. Then, with your pencil, draw a line half an inch from the top. Now we can begin. Perforating is where a sheet of paper can be easily torn out of, say, a notebook. But some types of perforating is really hard to tear. So we are going to make the kind that is easy to tear out.
Here, you are going to need your hammer and needle. Poke the tip of your needle on to the line you drew half an inch from the top. Gently, tap the hammer onto the needle until the needle has gone through all of the pages. Shift the needle a little to the side and do it again. Continue doing the same thing until you have completed the line you drew.
Attaching the Pen and Paper
Now we are going to attach the paper and the pen to the cardboard. For the paper, (during this time you may want to get a hot glue gun heating) above the perforated line, clamp the paper to the cardboard with the binder clip. Put it to the side of the cardboard so that there is room for your pen.
Now with your hot glue gun, glue the cap of your pen to the side of the clipboard with room for the rest of the pen.
Have Fun!
Your clipboard is complete! In the pen cap, if your pen runs out of ink, you can put a pencil there. Have fun doodling!
