How to Make a Classic BLT Sandwich
Ever went to a restaurant and ordered a BLT Sandwich and thought to yourself, I could totally make this at home? I always seem to be ordering something that I could make at home and I know it could be so much better. So here I am sharing how to make a classic BLT that is better than the ones at the restaurants. You can always add extra toppings, but I decided to keep it basic and simple for this video. Make sure you get your favorite/best toppings to make this sandwich really pop! So, if you want to make your own classic BLT sandwich, follow along step by step and check out the video tutorial as well. Let’s go!
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bacon
- 2 slices tomato
- 2 leaves lettuce
- 4 slices bread, toasted
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Bake Bacon
Preheat oven to 375°. Place the bacon strips in a single layer on a foil-lined sheet tray. Bake the bacon until just crisp, about 15 minutes or until crispy. If you never tried baking bacon, it is a game changer because it keeps the mess contained and the bacon smell doesn't go everywhere.
I also ended up baking extra bacon to have on hand.
Prepare the Produce
While the bacon bakes, sprinkle the tomato slices with salt and pepper. Also get you bread toasted as well, I forgot to toast mine but I really wish I had.
Take Bacon Out
Once the bacon is done to your liking, pull it out of the over and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to get all the extra grease out.
Assemble!
Arrange the cooked bacon, tomato slices and lettuce slices on one slice of bread. Spread one side of remaining bread slice with the mayonnaise.
Enjoy!
Bring the two pieces together to make a sandwich. Enjoy!
