I show how to make a very simple circular pocket slingshot. It is easy to make and only requires a plastic bottle, balloon and tape but can also be made with any short circular tube such as a PVC pipe and a wide band of rubber. If the balloon breaks it can be replaced with a new one the same way if was added. To make the circular slingshot the top of the plastic bottle is cut off at about 1.5 inches. Then the stem of a balloon is cut off and the balloon is pulled over the threaded part of the bottle and taped in place. It can shoot any small object that isn’t sharp so it won’t break the balloon. To shoot it an object is put through the bottle section into the balloon. The balloon is then pulled back like a normal slingshot and released to shoot the projectile. It only takes a few minutes to make and with enough practice you can become a fairly accurate shot. This is a fun project that you can do to entertain yourself and others when you are bored.

A slingshot, shanghai, flip, bean shooter, or a hand catapult is a small hand-powered projectile weapon. The classic form consists of a Y-shaped frame held in the off hand, with two rubber strips attached to the uprights. The other ends of the strips lead back to a pocket which holds the projectile. The pocket is grasped by the dominant hand and drawn back to the desired extent to provide power for the projectile (up to a full span of the arms with sufficiently long bands). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slingshot
