How to Make a Cheap Lego Motor
Have you ever wanted to make an essentially free Lego motor? Well this is the perfect Instructable for you, you dont need glue and its pretty easy to build.
Supplies
- Lego of course!
- Tape most will do (Its best to have a thinner kind)
- Some rubber bands
- One motor you could find this in a old broken toy or one you dont care about
- Old ballpoint pen
- Tape
- Scissors or a cutting tool
Motor Stand
You will need two 1x6 Lego technic beams, one 4x6 plate, and two technic pins.
- Take your pins and beams and place the pins in the center hole
- place the beams on the plate (image four)
Preparing the Pen Tube and the Motor
- Take apart the ball point pen
- Get the ink cartridge and cut it to length (Mine didn't fit but I hade a precut one that did so dont worry about that)
- The cut piece should fit on the motor if it is too lose add a small piece of tape around the motor shaft and it should fit. (Images 4-5)
- Then add the technic pin-axle, if it doesn't fit add some tape till its snug
Connect the Motor to the Base
You will need the motor and the base as well as the rubber band
- First take the motor and place it on the base
- Next get the rubber band and double it up on itself and and attach it to the base and over the motor then put it back on the pin
