How to Make a Cardboard Boat for a Flash Flood🌊
This instructable shows how to make a cardboard boat and an oar by using the materials that ordinary people have in their homes. This cardboard boat is for then a flash flood happens.
You need to use the knowledge about science and design class because there are some words that are sientific.
This boat can hold 1or 2 people.
Supplies
- Scissor/cutter knife
- Gum tape and ordinary tape
- Pen/Marker
- Ruler/Measuring tape
- 500ml plastic pet bottle x8
- Plastic wrap
- Cutter knife
- Toilet paper core
- Cardboard x
- Balloon x35
Card Board
Tape up the cardboard into one big piece but leave some. Then cut that into the shape of the second picture.
Build
Build up the boat into shape.
Wraping
Tape the plastic bag/wrap on the boat so that it will be water proof.
Ore 1
Tape up 5 toilet core's.
Ore 2
Get the other cardboard and cut it into the second pic. Then tape the plastic on it and tape it to the cardboard. Do that one more time.
Final Check
check for any untaped or un raped places.
Make Changes Based on Peer Review (a)
The limitations and strengths to learning about boat design
limitations:
I think that was that it was impossible to state my idea because there were many people in the group and that also, another thing is that there were limited supplies that were good for the boat we were trying to make.
strengths:
I think the strengths were that it was all boys and we are all friends so it was much easier to communicate or to say to do something because if it was girls, I will die or will not be able to talk.

How my instructable communicates my knowledge
I think it can show my knowledge by me stating/writing more about each one of the questions. For example, in the first question, I tried my best to remember what we did and also went to the website to memorize what we did. In the second question, I didn't remember a lot and could not find more information from the site, so it was short.

How the classes worked together
I think they worked together by using the background knowledge and the plan to prevent the problem and know the scientific thing to know about things and using that information to make a boat or plan.

Relevant concepts and what we learned in science and design
In science class, we learned about mass, weight, how to find the center of gravity, what is a center of gravity, density, buoyancy, and how a boat can float. And in design, we learned about a flash flood, how to make the boat float, how to make the boat stabilize in the water, how to design a boat that can float and the parts of the boats.
I think that the relevant concepts are about how to float a boat(like in science we learned about the center of gravity, and in design, we learned about how to make a floating boat).

how did design and science work together
I think that they did this by teaching step by step, having an accurate plan, and also because they had some of the knowledge because the teachers mentioned that they do it every year.
