How to Make a Basic Space Station Model in Autodesk Inventor

Whenever I think of floating I think space stations, so in this instructable I will show you how to make a basic space station based on the image above which is the Tiangong Space Station which was made and is owned by the CMSA, I also apologize if anything is weird or a instructions is wrong as this is my first time making one of these

1. something to use autodesk inventor
2. an autodesk subscription

The first step is to make a part and form a sketch on the xy plane based on the above image using the dimension, line and circle tool then using the revolve tool on the long line (this is all one sketch that are connected)

Next you will make a sketch on the same plane and make the sketch in the image above and revolve the sketch based on the long line

You will then need to select the shorter side of the branch without a cone and make a square that is .778 on each side that extrudeds by .7

You now need to make a circle that is .55 diameter on the cube and make a plane that is offset by .845 with another circle on that plane with the radius of .175 in the image and loft them to make a cone

after the loft you need to choose one of the cones and select the and make a .124 x .124 square that is extruded by .4

You then need to make a circle in this spot by lining it up using the dimension tool on the side of the cube that is extruded by .5

You then want to select the face and make the above rectangle using the remove tool on the center line

Make a rectangle on one of the newly made cylinder and extrude to the other side

Make a plane by select the side you made the solar panel and the side parallel to it and use the mirror tool to copy the features

Now click on both of the top of the cones of each side with the plane tool to make a plane we can mirror with to speed up the process like the previous steps

You then want to make another solar panel using the same step and mirror it using the xz plane (the photo above uses a different method to make the solar panel with first two photos being made on the xy plane

You will want to make the above sketch using all the previous methods tools on the xy plane and revolve it

we will want to add solar panel to this branch of the space station so we will need to add sketch on the xy plane and repeat the steps to make a solar panel and mirror like before

you will then need to use the fillet tool on the bottom using the measurements in the image above

If you followed all the steps properly then the final thing should look something like this but that not all since this is just a base feel free to edit it by adding more details, changing the colors or even adding things to it like engraving your name for it into the side
