In this tutorial, you will learn how to animate your own stick figure animation using traditional animation techniques, or frame-by-frame animation! You will learn how to use Flash, even if you’ve never opened the program before. You will learn how to draw, how to make your own cartoon, and how to export your video for YouTube!

Step 1: Download and Install Flash

There are a lot of programs you can download for free like OpenToonz, Krita, or Macromedia's version of Flash!

For this tutorial we will be using Flash. All versions of Flash function basically the same, so no matter what version you have, you will be able to follow along!

Step 2: Get a Drawing Tablet (optional)

You can totally draw with a mouse! But for animation, I highly recommend getting a drawing tablet. It will speed up your ability to draw frame after frame, and allow you to draw more naturally!

I recommend a Wacom Intuos Tablet

Step 4: Upload Your Cartoon to YouTube!

After you've created your animation and exported it, it's time to upload it to YouTube for the world and your friends to see!

Create a YouTube account if you haven't already
Click the "Upload" button in the top-right corner next to your avatar.
Once it's uploaded, share it around!

Congrats! You are now a YouTube Animator! :)
