I am sure you clicked on this cause you know how loud mice can become. Me, I started to feel uncomfortable about how loud my mouse was for the people working around me, and not being as rich as Tom Cruise, I thought I had to fix it...

So here's how!!!

NOTE!!! (please don't break your mouse and sue me!!! do this at your own risk, It is very foolproof, but just in case, be careful with your mouse.)

Supplies

DSCN6603.JPG
  • Tweezers (a must for putting the tiny mouse click part back into the housing)
  • Philips head, and flat head driver(Philips for the screws, and flat for tapping)
  • small knife(for prying open the small case)

Take It Apart

First of all remove the battery, if it takes them, and then take out the screws. Mine took a slight tug, an wiggle to remove the top and bottom halves.

Remove the Clicker Boxes...

Next, we must remove the clicker boxes...or at least that is what I call them.

Using the small precision knife, pry open the box and it will lift to one side then using your fingers, pull it off.

There will be a small piece of plastic that comes out of the case, This is normal, fit it back in, and set them aside.

Tapping...NOT HAMMERING!

Now once you take off the red cases, you will see an L-shaped protrusion, covering a tiny peice of shaped metal.

As you can see I placed the flat head on the tip of it, and using the handle of my scissors, I GENTLY tapped two times, all you need to do is get it to bend in a bit, just so that it is not exactly flat.

Finish?!

Trust me!!! This really works. Now I can edit photos, and draw paths, in a MUCH more focused quiet manner.

Try it, it will save you from having to buy a more expensive silent mouse. Oh! and by the way, this does not mess up click sensitivity AT ALL, it only makes the noise quieter!!!

Post a photo in the "I made it a section" of your new 🐁!!!

Happy clicking,
