I show how to make a simple waterproof container by sealing the ends of a straw to contain whatever is inside. Sealing the straws is pretty straightforward; the ends of the straws are held with needle nose pliers about 2-3mm away from the end of the straw. Then a lighter is used to melt the 2-3mm of straw sealing the end shut. Great for camping, survival kits, hiking, backpacking, and for keeping anything that will fit inside that you don’t want getting wet. You can use these to hold matches and tinder, spices and sauces, or money, and small papers.

Materials

- Straws

- Needle nose pliers

- Lighter/candle
