How to Make Wassail

Wassail is traditional English drink made from fruit, apple cider or juices and sometimes ale or even rum. This recipe can be made without ale or rum and is very sweet and tasty! It is a great winter drink!

You will need:

1 honey crisp apple   
4 to 6 cinnamon sticks
½ cup of brown sugar & tsp. nutmeg
1.5 liters of 100% of apple juice
1 cup of cranberry juice
24 whole cloves and 8 whole allspice
1 large orange

A stove
Teaspoon measurer
8 quart pot
Measuring cup
Ladle
Cutting board    
Machete
Plastic cups

Cut the Oranges into 4 wedges and the Apples into 4 wedges.

Put approx. 3 cloves on each side of the orange.
  Add the Oranges and Apples to the pot.

Add 1 tsp. of Nutmeg to the pot, 8 whole Allspices, 3 cinnamon sticks and a half cup of brown sugar.

Pour 1 to 2 liters of apple juice and 1 cup of cranberry juice into the pot.
   Optional: 1 bottle of ale.

Heat to a simmer, cover while simmering.

Stir occasionally for 1 hour.

Ready to serve, be cautious warm beverage.
Sip that wassail der through a straw.
