Hii friend,
Today I am going to make a VU Meter circuit using only one transistor. In this VU Meter I will use 2N2222A Transistor. This VU Meter is not good as compare to 3915 IC VU Meter.
Let's get stated,
Take All Components As Shown Below

This is the pinout of this transistor.
Pin-1 is Emmiter,
Pin-2 is Base and
Pin-3 of this transistor is Collector.
Connect All LEDs
![20191018_231521.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FQI/1HE8/K1S5PDLO/FQI1HE8K1S5PDLO.jpg&filename=20191018_231521.jpg)
Put all LEDs on the Zero PCB and Solder it's legs in series.
Connect LEDs in Series
![20191018_231538.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FY9/PROF/K1S5PDLU/FY9PROFK1S5PDLU.jpg&filename=20191018_231538.jpg)
Solder +ve leg of one LED to -ve leg of another LED as solder in the picture.
Connect 1K Resistors
![20191018_231553.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F3T/TWZC/K1S5PDLV/F3TTWZCK1S5PDLV.jpg&filename=20191018_231553.jpg)
Next we have to connect 1K resistors to +ve legs of all LEDs as you can see in the picture.
Connect Other Side of Resistors
![20191018_231605.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FNX/E2AH/K1S5PDLW/FNXE2AHK1S5PDLW.jpg&filename=20191018_231605.jpg)
Solder all out wires of 1K Resistors to each other. {Connect all pins of other side of 1K Resistors} as you can see in the picture.
Put Transistor
![20191018_231622.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FOH/7OCL/K1S5PDMJ/FOH7OCLK1S5PDMJ.jpg&filename=20191018_231622.jpg)
![20191018_231640.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FW7/N15X/K1S5PDN4/FW7N15XK1S5PDN4.jpg&filename=20191018_231640.jpg)
Next we have to connect the transistor to the PCB.
Connect Collector pin of transistor to the -ve legs of all LEDs as solder in the picture.
Connect Aux Cable Wire
![20191018_231656.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FQL/2X6I/K1S5PDNN/FQL2X6IK1S5PDNN.jpg&filename=20191018_231656.jpg)
Next we have to connect aux cable wire to the circuit.
Solder +ve wire {Left/Right} of aux cable to the Base pin of Transistor and
Connect -ve wire {GND} of aux cable to emmiter pin of the transistor.
Connect Battery Clipper Wire
![20191018_231709.jpg](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FPO/MPZW/K1S5PDNO/FPOMPZWK1S5PDNO.jpg&filename=20191018_231709.jpg)
Now we have to connect battery clipper to the circuit.
Connect +ve wire of battery clipper to Out {Other side of 1K Resistor} Side of the 1K Resistor and
-ve wire of battery clipper to Emmiter pin of the transistor as you can see in the picture.

VU Meter Shows the audio level of the music.
Connect 9V Battery to the Battery clipper and Plug-in aux cable to the phone/laptop/tab..... and play songs.
Now As music will play like that LEDs will glow.
This type we can make Only One Transistor to VU Meter circuit.
Thank you
