How to Make Tatertot Casserole

Hi. my name is RaeAnna Lewis. I help people make good frozen meals who can’t afford hard meals while making it easier and cheaper. I can help you make affordable but delicious meals. Today, I am going to show you in eight easy steps on how to make affordable, cheap, but delicious tater tot casserole. I’ve learned from the best and that person is my grandma who’s been making it for years.

Before we can start cooking the food, we need to either find a recipe or use a family recipe. In this instance we don’t I’ll be showing you how my grandma has been making it since I was child.  The very first thing you should do before cooking is get the stuff out and ready so you can grab it when needed. So, you will need for everything in the recipe is one pound of hamburger, one can of cream of mushroom, one can of green beans, dried minced onion(optional), pam, frying pan, spatula, mixing bowl, 9X13 (or any that you have) dish pan, shredded cheese, and tater tots. If you don’t like mushroom based things you can use cream of chicken.

First before we do anything wash your hands whenever you’re making food. Its optional but I like having a clean area where I’m cooking so I clean the stove and the counters but you don’t need to. While you’re making the ingredients preheat the oven to 350 degrees. If you don’t have a stove you could use an air fryer or a toaster oven. While you’re waiting for that grease up the pan you’re planning to use with pam.

Get the hamburger thawed out if you already haven’t. Then grab a frying pan that you think is big enough. I usually grab a normal sized one which is usually 12 inches and it works well. Next brown the hamburger in the frying pan. In the meantime, when it’s browning add a teaspoon of dried onion to add a bit of flavor. Put to the side when hamburger is fully browned.

In the meantime, get a mixing 4 qt. bowl add the can of green beans. Before adding them drain out the liquid that they come in. If you want it a little soupy keep some water. After the green beans added add the can of cream of mushroom (chicken). Mix until combined then add the browned hamburger we made earlier. Add the full mixture into the greased pan and spread evenly.

On top of the cream of mushroom (chicken), hamburger, and green beans add a layer of shredded cheese. It can be any kind of cheese that you like but I put cheddar. Then you’ll need to grab the tater tots that was left in the freezer out of it. You can either just dump the tater tots on top but my dad insists that I stand each up one by one. When it’s done put it in the oven for 30 minutes.

When it has been in the oven for 30 minutes take it out and add a bit of cheese on top of the tater tots. Be careful its really hot when it first comes out so use an oven mitt to protect your hand from getting burnt. Return the pan back in the oven for about 5 minutes or when the cheese is fully melted. Finally wait for it to cool and enjoy your tater tot casserole. That’s how you make the meal thank you for listening!
