This is a tutorial on how to make
THE best chocolate chip cookie that you have ever eaten. If you love a soft, warn, delicious cookie, then this is the recipe for you. If you assemble the cookie dough as presented, there is no doubt that your cookie will turn out amazingly!

PREP TIME: 20 minutes

COOK TIME: 10 minutes

TOTAL TIME (for one batch): 30 minutes

This recipe is so fast and easy, it makes the perfect go-to recipe for any party or celebration where cookies are needed.

GATHER MATERIALS

-large mixing bowl

-spoon, mixer or beaters

-ice cream scoop

-cookie sheet

COLLECT INGREDIENTS

-1 cup butter (melted)

-1 cup white sugar

-1 cup brown sugar

-2 tsp vanilla

-2 eggs

-3 cups all purpose flour

-1/2 tsp salt

-1 tsp baking soda

-1 1/2 cup oats

-1 cup chocolate chips

BEGIN COOKIE PROCESS

Preheat oven to 350* F as you make the cookie dough. Begin by microwaving butter for 45 seconds or until melted completely. It is crucial that your butter is melted, but not hot when you add it to the mixture. It will help the dough to be smooth and soft.

MIX IN THE SUGARS

In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together. Mix until the butter and sugars are completely incorporated. It should look smooth and a dark caramel color. Make sure that there are no clumps of brown sugar remaining or the cookies will turn out with lumps of brown sugar.

ADD IN THE LIQUIDS

Add the eggs and vanilla into the mixture and beat until incorporated. Make sure not to over blend or the cookies will not turn out as soft as some would like. The appearance of the mixture will turn a slightly lighter version of brown as shown above.

MIX IN THE DRY INGREDIENTS

Add the flower, salt and baking soda into the mixture and beat until it becomes dough like. Make sure that the dough is not too runny, but not too dry. If the dough seems too runny or sticky, you can add a bit more flour until the consistency is how you prefer.

*NOTE*

If you prefer to use wheat flour you can, but make sure to use 1/2 cup less so that the dough does not become dry.

INCORPORATE OATS

image.jpeg

Carefully incorporate the oats into the mixture to allow an even distribution of oats throughout the dough. If you like cookies that have a lot of oats in every bite, add an extra cup of oats into the dough.

ADD SOME CHOCOLATE

image.jpeg
image.jpeg

Add the chocolate chips into the cookie dough, and carefully fold them in until they are completely mixed in. You can use any type of chocolate chip but I prefer to dark chocolate chip morsels. However, bitter-sweet or milk chocolate chips will work just fine. It's your cookie, so make it how you like it!

PREPARE THE COOKIE SHEET

image.jpeg

Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper to ensure that the cookies do not stick to the pan. No one wants a cookie that falls apart trying to take it off of the pan. A light layer of cooking spray will work just fine.

*NOTE* If you do not have any cooking spray, you can wipe the pan with oil or butter and will work just as well.

SCOOP THE COOKIES

image.jpeg

Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out cookie dough balls and place on the prepared cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart. You can use any size scoop that you would like. If you like bigger cookies, then use a bigger scoop. Again, this is your cookie so prepare it to your liking!

BAKE

IMG_4269.JPG

Bake the cookies at 350* F for approximately 10-12 minutes. The cookies should look golden on the rims. It is okay if the cookies do not look completely baked in the middle because they will continue to bake. Make sure you DO NOT OVER-BAKE them! They will become hard, which is not what we want.

LET THEM REST

image.jpeg

Allow the cookies to sit on the pan for five to ten minutes. This allows the cookies to continue to bake without over-baking them in the oven. They will slightly sink and turn a rich golden brown color, making them look irresistible.

COOL DOWN

image.jpeg

Transfer the cookies onto a cooling rack for 20 minutes. Feel free to eat some of the freshly baked cookies! They are too good to resist.

EAT

Eat the best cookie that you have ever had...or two.. or three! Take some to your friends and family, or keep them all to yourself, but these cookies are sure to brighten up anyone's day! Put the remainder of the cookies into an airtight container to keep them soft for a few days. You can also freeze some of the dough and bring them out when you need cookies at a moments notice. Now you have completed making the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookie you have ever had!
