i've always wanted to learn how to make a easy dessert that my parents and siblings would enjoy. My mom loves cooking so she decided to teach me how to make flan. its very simple but you have to have patience and time. One tip i would give is that you have to careful that you dont burn yourself

This instructable will contain the recipe and how to do it.

Tools + Ingredients

The first thing I like to do is gather all my ingredients and tools

the ingredients are simple, all you need is 1 cup of sugar, 3 eggs, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 can of evaporated, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla

the tools I use are a flan mold, a small and large pot, and a spoon.

Mixing All Your Wet Ingredients

i start by getting a bowl and opening all the cans. then, i pour the condensed and evaporated milk and crack my three eggs in the bowl. Get a spoon and add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. I like getting a fork and start whisking everything together.

Melting Your Sugar

After all my wet ingredients are mixed together. i get a small pot and put it over medium-low heat. i start pouring the cup of sugar, you have to be quick to make sure your sugar doesnt burn but not so quick. Make sure all the sugar is melted.

Pouring Your Ingredients in the Flan Mold

You get your flan mold and start pouring the melted sugar, make sure you coat the bottom and the sides of the mold. After the mold is covered with all the melted sugar, you get your mixture of eggs and milk on top of the melted sugar.

Letting It Cook

after you have poured your mixture and sugar, make sure you close the lid and start getting a large pot and fill it up with water. Put the pot of water under medium low heat, carefully put your mold in the water and make sure the water covers the mold. put the lid over the pot and leave it covered for an hour and 20 minutes. keep an eye on it.

Ready to Serve

after the 1 hour and 20 minutes passes, you have to start throwing out the water out of the pot slowly. get the mold out of the pot. i like putting the mold in the fridge for about a hour to make sure it cools down. when you notice your flan has cooled down you can open the lid and carefully flip the mold in another container. After its all cooled down its ready to serve and eat!!!
