Kroger is the perfect place to find all food items you will need. The main ingredient to make these perfect red velvet cupcakes is a red velvet Duncan Hines cake box mix. The box looks like the one shown above. Once you find that at your nearest grocery store, grab it off the shelf!

Preparing Ingredients

There is a few other ingredients when it comes to using a cake box mix. You can't just pour the powder into the muffin pan and bake that. As shown on the box the other ingredients you will need is, a measuring cup to measure the 1 cup of water, and 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and finally 3 large eggs. You will also need a bowl and hand held mixer to blend together the cake mix, water, and oil and eggs.

Next you are going to want to read the cake box, and preheat the oven to time shown on box. I am using a metal pan so I am heating mine up to 350 (Fahrenheit) degrees. If you are using a dark coated pan preheat yours to 325 (Fahrenheit) degrees. Finally open your cake box and pour the powder into your designated bowl.

Mixing the Ingredients

Mixing the ingredients together is a very important step. You are going to want to start by measuring the 1 cup of water, and then adding that to the cake box mix. Next you measure out the 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and adding that to the mix. Finally, grab 3 eggs and crack those and add them to all the other ingredients. After you have all the ingredients in the bowl you can use a hand held mixer or a stand mixer or just a plain big spoon. Mix all of the ingredients together.

Grease and Pour

To start step 5 off, I grabbed my muffin paper cups and 12 cup muffin pan. I put the paper cups into my pan. Then I divided my batter into twelve. I put those into the muffins spots on the pan. Hopefully by now your oven is heated to the correct temperature. I then placed my cupcakes in the oven for 17 minutes.

Starting Icing

Normally while my cupcakes are baking I get started on making the icing for these cupcakes. For my Red velvet cupcakes the perfect icing is a cream cheese icing. To make this you are gonna wanna get out these ingredients. The following ingredients are: 1 stick of butter, 8oz cream cheese, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 4 cups powdered sugar. Then grab your mixer i am using a stand mixer for this.

Cooling Cupcakes

Before you ice cupcakes they have to cool. Grab your cupcakes out of the oven, and make they are done with a toothpick. Then you can put them on a drying rack like I did to cool them.

Pipping and Icing

Grab your piping bag and a cupcake and start icing your cupcakes. You can do whatever design you desire too. There are multiple different nozzles and patterns. All cupcakes can be decorated differently. I took my piping bag and decorated all of cupcakes.

Sprinkles Is Everything

To match my red cupcakes I decorated the icing/top with red glass like sprinkles. This made my cupcakes look so much better. Then my family is a huge chocolate loving family. I then also sprinkled some chocolate chips on some of the icing/top. Now my cupcakes look so appealing and good!!

EAT!!
