How to Make: Pencil Holder on Tinkercad

This guide will show you how to make a pencil case/holder In tinkercad

Supplies

If 3d printing

  • 3D printer

Open Project

Go to tinkercad.com and start a new project

Starting Things

Tap the picture of a cylinder (In the basic shapes folder) and tap anywhere on the open workspace

Re-sizing

Re size the bottom of the cylinder to size 100mm (Millimeters) and the hight to 200mm

Duplicate

Click on the cylinder and duplicate it. Then put the two cylinders together

2nd Cylinder Steps

Re-size the center cylinder, and put it in the middle of the outer cylinder

Shorten the center cylinder, then press the hole option in the upper right-hand corner, then fix the height of the cylinder to be equal to the larger cylinder. (I pulled the center cylinder out so that you could see it. If you also do this make sure to put it back of the middle of the larger cylinder.)

Re-coloring

If you would like the pencil holder to be a different color then you want to click the larger cylinder to select it then click the color function, which as you can see brings up a color panel that you can then select from. In the end I went with a light grey just to match most 3d printer's fillament
