Most hardware stores or metal shops will cut galvanized

sheet metal for you. Use the back insert of the picture frame as a guide to determine the correct size.

Prep Old Picture Frame

Clean and sand the frame to remove the existing finish. This will help the new paint adhere to the surface.

Apply Primer

Apply two coats of paint to the frame. Let the first coat completely dry before applying the second.

Create Your Design

When the paint is dry, use painter's tape to create a

pattern on the frame. We did basic stripes. Make sure to press the edges of the tape down to prevent the paint from bleeding through.

Add Accent Color

Apply paint right over the painter’s tape and the entire frame. Let dry and then apply a second coat.

Let Dry and Remove Tape

When the paint is dry, slowly remove the

painter’s tape. Use a small artisan paintbrush to make any necessary touch-ups.

Attach the Metal Sheet

Insert the galvanized sheet metal into the frame and then

replace the back and push down the staples or frame tabs to secure the pieces in place.

Delightful Decor

Attach a hanger on the back of the frame and display your new memo board it a handy spot.
