How to Make Homemade Ice Cream

How to Make Homemade Ice cream

Hi. My name is Kayla Jacobson. I have been making a frozen treat for my family for many years. Making a frozen treat is a fun activity to do with friends and family. I am going to show you in five steps and less how to make the best homemade ice cream you will ever have. Did you know there are more than three hundred diverse kinds of ice cream? Also, the average American consumes twenty-three pounds of ice cream every year. So, let us make ice cream.

Supplies

Ingredients that we will need to make ice cream is sugar, half and half, vanilla flavoring, ice cream toppings, kosher salt, sandwich size bag, and gallon size bag.

Combine Ingredients

First, take 1 cup of half and half. Then pour the half and a half into the bag, then measure out 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and put that into the same bag as the half and half. Then measure out ½ teaspoon of vanilla and pour the vanilla into the mixture. Now take out the extra air and seal the bag shut so that the mixture does not get into the ice.

Mix Ice and Salt

Now, set aside the small bag which has the ice cream mixture. Now in a gallon size bag pour in the 3 cups of ice; the ice will help chill the mixture down to the point of ice cream consistency. Next, measure out 1/3rd cup of kosher salt, then pour the kosher salt into the bag of ice. The salt will also aid the process of making ice cream.

Combine Bags

Next, put the small sandwich bag inside the big gallon size bag. Once the smaller bag is in the bigger bag that has the ice and salt, shake that bag for 10 mins. During those 10 minutes, the ice-cream mixture will become hard, and ice cream will be created.

Add Toppings

Lastly, after the bag has been shaken for 10 minutes take the ice cream out of the bag and scoop it into a bowl and add any ice cream toppings such as caramel sauce, sprinkles. Now, enjoy the ice cream that was just made from a bag.
