How to Make Home-made Kefir
Kefir is a healthy dairy based probiotic drink.
It aids with digestion and has been known to have positive health effects.
For this recipe you will only need milk and kefir grains.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons of Kefir grains (if you can't find them locally, then you can get them online)
1 Litre of full cream milk (at least 3.5% fat) you need to make sure that the milk is at room temperature.
Add Kefir to the Milk
Pour the milk into a glass jar, add your kefir grains and store on your kitchen table overnight (24 hours) whilst covering the jar in cheese-cloth.
Wait for the Curd and Why to Separate
The kefir is ready when the curd and the whey separates.
When this happens just stir thoroughly and then store the kefir in the fridge.
Enjoy!
That's all you need to do to make your own kefir.
You can serve it plain or with other flavours (like berries or honey or sugar).
