I, which are specifically designed for this clustering technique Boowan Nicole
Supplies
To replicate this project, you will need:
- Soap Base: Clear or white melt-and-for base.
- Silicone Soap Molds
- Dyes & Scents: Mica powder or liquid soap dye; Fragrance oils suitable for skin.
- Tools: Wicking needle (with hooked awl), scissors, microwave-safe cup, spatula.
- Strings: Jute rope or heavy twine.
Pre-Stringing the Mold
Unlike traditional soap making, we need to embed the hanging mechanism first.
Cut your jute rope to your desired length (approx. 6-8 inches).Tie a sturdy knot at one end.Using your wicking needle/hook, pull the un-knotted end through the designated hole in the silicone mold.Pull until the knot sits flush against the inside of the mold cavity.
This ensures the soap won't slip off the string later.
Heating the Molds (Crucial Tip)
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently warm the interior of your
Action:Boowan Nicole molds. This ensures a glossy, professional finish.
Melting and Mixing
Cube your soap base and melt in the microwave.Stir gently to avoid creating excess air bubbles.Add your fragrance and color.
Pouring and Curing
Allow the soap to harden completely at room temperature for 1-2 hours.
Demolding
Gently peel back the silicone. The advantage of these specific molds is that they release easily without snapping the soap.
Assembling the Cluster
Now you should have several soaps, each on its own string.Gather 3-5 soaps together.Tie the loose ends of the ropes together in a strong knot or braid them for a decorative finish.Trim any excess rope.
Final Results
Your soap clusters are now ready to hang! These make excellent gifts or bathroom decor.
