How to Make Fully Working Spider-Man Miles Morales PS5 Web Slingers - Halloween Cosplay Ideas
Hi, Readers in this instructable we will see how to make this Working Spider-Man Miles morales ps5 Web shooter that slings thread web.
This Halloween you can use this web shooter for your Cosplay, You can also gift a pair of these working web shooters to your loved ones too choice is yours!!!!
Why Build these web shooters??
Apart from many interesting reasons like being Very Easy to Make, This has 2 more unique features which make this stand apart from the rest of the expensive web shooters out there!
1) This web shooter does not use any springs or magnets which is one of the bothering parts in readily available web shooters available in the market nowadays.
2) Cost-effectiveness - This web shooter can be made for under $19, Yes you heard it right! just Nineteen Dollars or less including 3d printing and other charges if you have the basic supplies at home(everybody has these days!).
Less expensive does not mean compromise with performance, This web-shooter performs equal to a 100$ web-slinger
As you know if you want to buy similar web shooters online you should spend a min of $60 to 100$ and nobody wants to spend much money when you can get this cool web-slinger under 20$
As we now have a reason to build these functional web-shooters we will go through all the steps necessary to end up being a true spidey fan.
Supplies
To build this we require only some of the basic supplies, most of them might be readily available at your home.
Let me give you a quick list of all the supplies used here.
- STL files or Design files of the web shooter get it HERE
- 3D printer, if you don't have a printer you can seek help from your friends, if your friends are not ready to do you a favor LIKE MINE!!! You can use any local/ online 3d printing services to get your 3d printer this won't cost you much
- Slicing software like Ultimaker Cura(Don't have Cura? Get it for free Here)
- Silver paint
- Red paint
- Brushes for painting
- Velcro band of about 15cms*1cm
- Elastic band
- Sewing Thread of about 100cms
3D Printing Body and Slinger
We have only 2 parts to print here and the process does not take much longer
One is the Body and other is the slinger, Before printing any of these kindly have a look at the settings.
Before printing any 3d model we have to check if the parts need any support or adhesion similarly in our web shooter, we have to take care of the following factors.
Main body of web shooter does not need any supports or adhesion as we don't have any hanging parts.
You can check the above images for the part placement on the printing bed(this instruction is only for beginners!!)
Slinger part or the long tube kind of part! Needs adhesion, It needs adhesion because as the printer starts to print the top part the bottom might break sometimes, to avoid this problem we need to use adhesion.
From the above visual you can see the same info.
Finishing Printed Part
Once we have our printed parts ready we need to work on the Body part but there is no need for any post-processing for the slinger part.
What is post processing?
Post-processing is nothing but the additional steps/process carried out in a 3d printed part to give it a final touch.
In our case, we need to add color to our part but in other parts(not in this project) there might be a need to remove supports that were used at the time of printing luckily we didn't use any supports!! So we don't have to go through those additional work.
What actually do we need to work on here?
Just grab your paintbrush and red fabric paint bottle and Color the specific areas as in the image, repeat the same steps to color the grey parts area also.
Make sure you take care at the time of painting because in the end, your painting matters the most
Done painting?
Allow some time to dry the paint, Now we can finally add the main part of this web slinger.
For the elastic band, I have provided the slots and the hook kind of thing that holds the elastic band in the part itself.
Kindly go through the steps as in the images to insert elastic band to the slots, believe me its very easy.
Making This Wearable
To make this work on any size hands it is best recommended to use velcro band, some call it as velcro strip too.
For me, a size of 15*1cm was found effective, and my hand is the size of an average mid 20s human!
You can use the same size as the velcro bands are adjustable.
To add a velcro band uses the slot that comes with the part itself, Just slide in the band and add a drop of super glue and you are good to go!
Finally, wear it on your hand and check If the grips are good enough, definitely it should work fine.
To make the web-slinger part just insert normal sewing thread to the slinger slot, tie with a small know, That becomes our web-slinger.
Working Video of Ps5 Web Slinger
Wear the web shooter and just insert the slingers into the slot, The hook in the slinger part automatically comes in contact with the elastic band, using your finger pull back the slinger and release, Now watch your web fly in the air like a real web.
From the visuals, you can get to know how this web slingers functions, You can also watch the clip that shows step-by-step instructions to make this project if you need more clarifications.
Like I said earlier if you are a spidey fan or looking for some outstanding cosplay ideas for this Halloween you should definitely give a try for this.
