How to Make French Macarons
Need a new dessert to bring to those get-togethers? Here's the best French macarons you will ever taste!
Gather Ingredients
Grad your ingredients! Heres what you need: Almond flour, powdered sugar, granulated sugar, two room temperature egg whites, (optional: food coloring, and preferred icing)
Preheat Oven
While you're cooking up your treats, preheat your oven to 300 degrees F!
Powdered Sugar
Sift 1 cup of powdered sugar into a large bowl!
Almond Flour
Sift 3/4 cup almond flour into the same bowl and whisk together!
Eggs
In a separate bowl, crack two room temperate egg whites into a bowl. Next, take your 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and pour in about half of it; the rest will be used after!
Beat Eggs
Beat your egg and sugar mixture for about two minutes, or until you get a frothy white mixture!
Meringue
Next, add your other half of your sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. This should be like a whippedcream consistency. This process can take a few minutes, and more sugar and food coloring can be added if needed/preferred!
Batter
Now, grab those dry ingredients we put off to the side and add about half, then fold, and repeat until all ingedients are fully combined!
Piping Bag
Add your batter into a piping bag!
Pipe
Pipe evenly spaced, quarter sized circles on a flat piece of parchment paper onto a baking sheet. Next, bang out tray on to the table to release all the airbubbles. After they are piped, let them sit out for 30 minutes before putting into the oven!
Bake
Bake your Macarons for 15-18 minutes, or until slightly brown!
Let Cool and Ice!
Let your macarons cool completely before placing your icing in the center. I hope you enjoyed learning how to make this sweet treat and maybe you will wow your friends with these at your next party
