How to Make Filtered Ice.
Learn how to make filtered ice to help cool your warm beverages during a hot day.
Supplies
Water, Ice tray, stove, pot, freezer, and a bowl.
Buy a Flexible Ice Tray
Buy an ice tray that can be bent and twisted so the ice can pop out easily and not get stuck in the mold.
Wash the Ice Tray With Soap and Hot Water
Make sure the ice tray is clean by washing it with soap and warm water to make sure no bacteria contaminate the ice.
Fill a Pot With Tap Water
Fill a pot with the amount of water you need to fill the ice tray.
Boil the Water
set a stove to at least 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius) for at least 3 minutes to ensure the water boils. Boiling the water filters it to ensure it is drinkable because it will be in your drink.
Let the Water Cool
after the water boils for at least 3 minutes, take it off the stove and allow it to cool down so that the pot is handlable.
Boil the Water Again
Boiling the water again at the same temperature for the same amount of time allows a safety net and makes sure the water is 100% drinkable.
Let the Water Cool Down
Once again, let the water and pot cool down so you can handle the pot and pour out the water.
Pour the Water Into the Ice Tray
Fill the ice trays as much as possible to make sure each ice cube is a good size.
Place the Ice Tray Into the Freezer
Place the full ice tray on a flat surface in a freezer so the water does not spill out. Make sure that the freezer is at most 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) to make sure the ice freezes.
Wait 6-7 Hours
Give the ice at least 6-7 hours to freeze to make sure the ice cubes are completely frozen and ready for use.
Take the Ice Out of the Freezer
Take the ice tray out of the freezer after at least 6-7 hours to make sure the ice is frozen and ready for use when needed.
Twist Ice Tray Over a Bowl
Take out an empty bowl to hold your ice cubes. Twist the tray over the bowl so that the ice falls into the bowl.
Enjoy Your Ice
Put the ice into a drink of your choice and enjoy!
