Items needed:
2. Iron
4.) Transfer Tape
Login to Cricut Design Space
Select Your Project Type.
You can use any of your previously saved images or begin a new project.
Select Your Design.
Some of these are purchased. Others I made myself. If you would like any custom design(SVG) made, send me a message and I can create it for you.
You Can Select Multiple Designs.
Select the designs to work with.
Insert the Designs.
Next go to the bottom of the screen and press insert.
Separate the Designs.
Unlock the Design.
Click on the unlock button.
Adjust the Size.
Change the dimensions of the design as per your wish.I selected 5 by 5, which is just right for my potholders.
Attach the Letters of the Design.
Once you have got the right size for your design, make sure that you select all the words and images of that one design. Then go to the bottom right and press attach. If you don’t press attach, the letters W-H-I-P are going to come out individually and you will have a hard time getting your design down on the potholder. When you attach it, it is going to cut the way you see it unless there are different colors.
Make sure you do it for each of the designs.
Click on the Make Button.
Turn the Mirror Button On.
Whenever you are doing any ironing on projects, make sure that you click the Mirror button on. It will turn green once you turn it on.It will automatically reverse everything.
Space Out the Images.
Once the images are reversed, move them around and get some space between them. That way it will be easier to get a clean cut with the scissors.
Cut Out the Design and Weed It.
The HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) is much easier to weed than regular vinyl. So it will be a quicker process.
Put the Shiny Side Down.
Place the design exactly where you want it on the potholder.
Preheat the Iron on Cotton Settings.
Make sure your iron is hot enough and preheated.
Press the Iron Onto the Design.
Hold it down on each spot for 15 seconds and press. Press really hard!
Some people prefer to put a towel on it, but I prefer to go directly on it. Turns out perfectly fine.
Run the Iron All Over the Design.
Then go over each part of the design and make sure that it stuck well.
Peel It Off.
Slowly peel it off and make sure it all sticks.
Let It Sit for a Little While.
Your potholder is ready.
