We recycled a plastic easter egg and use both parts for different purposes in the soap making process. The top part of the plastic egg is our soap mold, while the bottom of the egg is used as our soap holder. Just hot glue a bottle cap to the bottom of the egg and set it right next to your sink.
ITEMS NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR OWN DIY DINOSAUR SOAP:
- 1 Container of Transparent Glycerin Soap (We found ours at Michael's)
- 1 Plastic Easter Egg (We'll use the top for the soap and the bottom as our soap holder)
- Tape
- 1 Popsicle Stick
- 1 Egg Carton to hold your egg
- 1 Small Toy to fit inside the top of your Easter Egg
- 1 Bottle Cap & 1 Hot Glue Gun if you're interested in the making the soap holder.

Tape Your Easter Egg

Since we're going to use the top of our Easter Egg as our soap mold, you'll need to put tape over the holes of the egg. This will prevent the melted soap from falling through.
Melt the Soap

Using a microwave safe dish, melt your transparent glycerin soap for 40-60 seconds in 10 second intervals.
Insert the Toy Into the Egg

While the soap is in the microwave. Insert your plastic toy, UPSIDE DOWN.
Stir the Melted Soap

Continue stirring the soap until all the chunks are melted.
Pour the Soap Into the Mold

When the soap chunks are liquified, pour the soap into the top of the easter egg molds. Now let the soap sit and cool for 2 hours.
Pop the Soap From the Mold

After the soap is cool. Rub the sides of the easter egg between the palms of your hands to loosen the edges. Turn the egg upside down and pop the dinosaur soap out.
NOTE: You can also use a butter knife to gently nudge the soap from the sides of the plastic egg.
Make the Soap Holder

To make the soap holder, simply hot glue a bottle cap to the bottom of the easter egg base. That's it. Now you have a soap holder which can be put right by the sink for your Dinosaur Egg Soap!
