Welcome to another blog, hope you guys are doing good….

This blog is going to be interesting so stay tuned. In this blog I will show you how to make an LED chaser for your home decoration.

Supplies

  • LED
  • 555 Timer IC
  • CD4017 IC
  • Preset 10KΩ
  • Resistor (220Ω, 1KΩ)
  • Capacitor 22µF

Circuit Diagram

This is the Circuit diagram we are going to follow.

Working Principle

The preset connected to 555 Timer IC will create a PWM signal whenever we rotate the knob of the preset. And this signal will feed to the CD4017 IC which will trigger our LED.

As we have seen, the Circuit Diagram and the Working principle are like bread and butter. So without further delay see how to design it.

The circuit Diagram is very easy just follow the above diagram and boom it’s done.

Hurrah our LED chaser is ready. But it seems messy, kind of buzzy. So to solve this problem we have designed PCB according to our uses. Now you must be wondering how we can design PCBs as we need. Here  I am going to show you how you can purchase your own PCB.

Ordering PCB From JLCPCB

Ordering PCb from JLCPCB is quite simple and easy.

You just have to add your gerber file (max upto 6 layers) , select layer and add to cart then checkout securely and the sum. That's it no your designed PCB is at your doorstep.

This is the glimpse of PCB we have ordered for our convenience.

Do the soldering according to the circuit diagram. And that's it our LED chaser is ready.

In the above picture we see how we can control the speed of the chaser by rotating the knob of the oreset.

That's it for today….

See you on another interesting project….
