I'm sure we all have empty jars in our kitchen pantry for waiting to get use one day, if not start collecting them now 😁 .
So get the empty jars, take of the labels & sticky residue off, clean them well and dry it.

Mirror Effect Spray

We do need a mirror effect spray to make them like a mirror, Rustoleum mirror effect spray works on glass well.

Using Mirror Effect Spray Paint on Glass Jars

Screenshot_20210315-082830~2.png
So we'r going to spray inside of the jars, very light coats. Spraying first jar very light coat then spraying rest of the jars , this will give you couple of mins then come back to first jar and spray it again with very light coat. Repeat same step couple of times for each jar.

Your Glass Jars Turned Into Mirror Jars

After spraying light coats of paint , glass jars started turn as a mirror right Infront of your eyes πŸ‘€ πŸ˜€ . You can just stop here and wait for the paint completely dry or you can continue next step ( optional)

Adding Different Colours (optional)

You can just leave it as it is only with mirror effect spray paint or you can add colours by spraying them, inside the jars again. This time you don't need to do few coats, one/ two light coats should be enough. ( Make sure not to paint front of the jars as we wanna keep the mirror look) If u choose to add different colours remember rustoleum paints works well with their own. After mirror effect spray paint dries (give around 15 mins) then I used rustoleum gloss black on some jars & rustoleum mettallic gold on others and left couple of jars with mirror effect paint only, those ones will have silver back.

Waiting Time

Now they look so beautiful like an antique mirror 😍 you don't wanna smash them😁. Make sure to clean finger prints or any touch of paint out side of the jars and leave them ( or you can keep stare at them πŸ˜ƒ) for a day coz we don't wanna blotch the paint.

Protection ! Safety Measures

After 24 hours we r ready to make beautiful crushed glass. But first and very important step is safety. Wear your working gloves ( cut resistible) and your safety googles. Also make sure protect the floor, as when you hitting hard there's a possibility to damage the floor.

Getting Ready to Smashing

Place the jar in plastic bag, cover it with plastic and some kind of thick cloth . If you choose to add different colour of paint , separate them by colour, unless you'll like all colours mixed together.

Smashing Time πŸ˜ƒ

Okay get your hammer and let your anger out 😁 start hitting the jars.. then place another plastic sheet on the floor and use an old colander top of it, put broken glass bits into the colander and shake it well to take off the tiny ones and also dusty sand out ( do not throw away !). Depending on your needs if the glass bits are 2 chunky place them back into plastic, cover it and smash it little more, keep repeating the process till the size you desired to have. Then place it in plastic containers.
Also repeat the same process on other colour jars.

Hidden Gems 😍

Get a smaller colander and place it on the plastic container then with the scoop (or something can work as one) start taking the dusty sand (as we save it from shaking the glass bits) and place it in small colander. Shake it on top of the container. So in your colander you'll have very tiny sparkling crushed glass. And in your container have glass sand , which is beautiful to use on ur creative projects πŸ˜‰

This Is It πŸ‘πŸ‘

Happy Creations πŸ₯°πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ‘
