The supplies you will need to make these cards are as follows :

  • card paper / card stock
  • food colouring in a variety of colours
  • shaving foam/ cream ( preferably unscented )
  • a ruler
  • a tray that can get a little dirty or stained
  • chopstick or skewer
  • paper towels
  • something slightly weighted to weigh down paper
  • a spoon

Step 1 : Add a layer of shaving foam to the tray. The shaving foam layer should be roughly 3cm thick and make sure you have covered most of the tray quite well.

Step 2: Flatten out the shaving foam so it is even and has been spread right to the edges of your tray. Hold your card paper over the tray and check that your card paper can fit on the tray with enough shaving foam under and around so not to have it hanging over the sides.

Step 3: Open and add your food colouring onto the tray on top of the shaving foam. Drop single dots on the shaving making sure to evenly separate the dots. Do this with as many or as little colours as you want. Making sure not to add too much food colouring.

Step 4: Grab your skewer or chopstick and place it in your shaving foam. Start swirling the colours around with the skewer to make a marble patterned design. This is also the time to add any other drops of food colouring into empty spaces or areas you want another colour.

Step 5: Gently place your card paper on top of your shaving foam. Press down lightly to make sure all parts of the card are touching the shaving foam and to make sure there are no air bubbles in between the paper and the foam.

Step 6: Remove the paper from the tray by lifting the corner and peeling it off. Place your card on the flat surface. Let it sit for a minute to let the food colouring soak into your paper. Grab your ruler and slide it over the card pushing down so as to scrape off all the shaving foam.

Now let the cards dry in a sunny place make sure to weigh down all 4 corners of the paper so it doesn't dry all curvy. Then you can fold and write on your card for birthday gifts etc.

And your all done :)
