How to Make Chocolate Balls in Less Than 5 Minutes
When I was a child I took part in the Israeli Scouts. At the Scouts we had weekly activities every Tuesday and Friday. At the end of almost every session we made chocolate balls. Being kids, and not much of cooks, we camp yp with a way that was really easy and quick.
I really enjoyed making chocolate balls. The activity made me reassure and calm. In the years since, whenever I was nervous or bored I would make myself chocolate balls. Alone or with friends, the activity filled me with joy and serenity.
Today I will share how to make chocolate balls like I used to do in my youth. It's very simple and easy, and your children might enjoy doing it as well.
Supplies
300g of plain biscuits
0.5 cup of milk / water
3 tablespoons of cocoa
4 tablespoons of sugar
For Improvement:
50g butter
8 cubes of dark chocolate
Coconut for coating
Break the Biscuits Into Small Pieces
Break the biscuits into small pieces. There are several ways you can do this:
1. Put in a bowl and break using a kitchen hammer (like those you use for schnitzels).
2. Break with your hands piece by piece.
3. Put in a plastic bag and break it using a heavy tool.
Make a Mixture of Milk, Cocoa and Sugar
Take a bowl and put in it half a cup of milk, 3 tablespoons of cocoa and 4 tablespoons of sugar.
Mix everything together until you get a dense yet liquid texture.
Mix Everything Together
Take the mixture of cocoa, sugar and milk and mix together with the biscuits we broke earlier.
Mix until everything gets a uniform shade.
*If the mixture is a little dry, you can add water or milk.
Preparation of Chocolate Balls
We have got to the moment! Now that the mixture is ready, you can finally make the chocolate balls.
Take a small piece of the mixture and roll it with your hand. You can add coconut or coloured candy, based on your preferecnces.
Recommendation - If you are at home and there is no time pressure, it is recommended to put it in the refrigerator for an hour before eating.
And it's all ready and all in less than five minutes!
Upgrade the Chocolate Balls
If you want to upgrade the chocolate balls and you are near a heating source, you can make a mixture that includes 8 chocolate cubes and 50 grams of butter.
Take these ingredients put in a bowl, put in the microwave for 30 seconds then mix.
Of course if we do this activity outside, we can light a small campfire and put it on the campfire for a few seconds on a pan. Once the mixture is ready, add it to the mixture we arrived at in Step 3 it strengthens the taste.
Additional Information
If you are bored and want to think of more activities to do with the chocolate balls before eating them, and you are doing it as part of a social activity, you can play the game "Egg in a Spoon" only with a chocolate ball. This is a game we used to play a lot in the Scouts as well. Each child receives a chocolate ball and spoon, the goal being to get from one side to the other very quickly. Whoever makes it to the other side first, without the chocolate balls falling on the floor - wins. By the way, you can only hold the spoon with one hand.
* If you want to make it even more challenging, you can do it with the spoon in your mouth and not held in your hand.
