How to Make Cartoon Furniture!

fruit.jpg

Hello to the amazing person who clicked on this Instructable. The theme I am going to show you is shown in 1. Just so you know, I did not make the base designs, I am just using it as reference. Picture 1 is furniture from a cartoon. Anyway, without any further ado, let's get straight into it!

Supplies

You will need:

A 3D printer (For a mini model)

Some heavy-duty cardboard/wood

Fabric

and a reference picture (You can use the one I'm using if you want)

Mini Model

What you are going to do is go into any 3D modeling program (I suggest Tinkercad), and then create those designs you are going to make into life size furniture. I am using the Fruit Furniture from Animal Crossing. Also, you don't need to worry about colors, since you will paint the furniture afterwards. After a few minutes, I have created the Apple Chair, and if you are lazy and just want the template, then here. I don't know if that will work cuz its my first time putting a template or whatever, so i hope it works. *Me now noticing I can just click the Full Preview button* That never happened, he... he... Ok it works. But then after you print that out, you can start making the real item.

Now that you have your mini model, you can start building the furniture. Sadly, I am not the type of person who is all woodworking, so I am just going to tell you and show you in Tinkercad. Hopefully this goes to plan. Btw, if anybody that made it this far, please tell me if there is anything to change in the directions to make it better. Something like, "At step 4 in The Real Item, you need to attach them with something." Idk. Just any feedback is nice. But you are going to first need to find how big you want your furniture to be. I don't know the base to seat ratio for the Apple Chair, so if you do, please comment. But you will find how big you want your chair to be, and then find how big the base is going to be based on the seat size. After you do that, cut a slab of wood to fit the diameter of the base. After you do that, cut the circle base (or whatever base your making. Remember, I'm making the Apple Chair.) Then sand it out so its smooth. Now, cut a circular hole in the center to fit the pole. I don't know what height the pole should be, but any height that fits your counters/tables or anything. Then use some screws to screw the pole to the base (Or use some wood glue, I honestly have no clue, but if you do know, comment it down below plz. and if you dont know, check the comments to see if people said anything.) Then you will take an piece of wood that will fit the seat. After that, cut the the wood into a choppy egg-shape. Then sand it out into a smooth egg. Then, use a saw or something to cut in the center of the chair. It could even be like, 3/4. Then cut the bottom. Now just sand out the rough corners, and then attach it to the pole. Now you just gotta paint it! I hope you enjoyed this some-what decent tutorial, and please comment any troubles or feedback. Also, if you vote for me, that would make me very happy. I have never gotten to a semi-finalist. And if I could just get into the semi-finals, that would make my day. =)
