How to Make Cake Pops
10 steps to making your perfect cake pops!
Materials
- cake mix of your choice
- ingredients to make the cake
- frosting (non whipped)
- lollipop sticks
- candy melts of your choice
- Styrofoam block(s)
Bake the cake of your choice by following the directions on the back of the box.
use only 1/2 the amount of vegetable oil
Let the cake cool
put the cake into a large bowl and crumble the cake with your hands
mix small amounts of (non whipped) frosting into the cake crumbles and mush together until the cake mix is clay like
melt the candy melts of your choice in the microwave (follow directions on the back of the bag)
to keep your candy melts warm so you don't have to keep microwaving them you can place the bowl inside another bowl of hot water or use a warmer of your choice
you can use a scoop or do it by hand: roll up reasonable sized balls to go on the end of the lollipop sticks
make sure the balls are compacted so they don't fall apart while pushing the stick in
dip one end of the lollipop stick into the melted candy and take your cake ball and put it on the same side as the melted candy
wait for it to set
then, dip the cake ball into the melted candy and pull straight up
add sprinkles to the cake pop while its still wet
then, stick your cake pop into the Styrofoam block to dry/ harden
