How to Make Beef & Cabbage Stir-fry
Do you ever get sick of the same old take-out and ramen packets? Or maybe you want to start learning how to cook. Well, today I am going to show you how to make a quick and hearty meal that is easy on the bank. Beef and cabbage stir fry has been my go-to meal ever since I graduated from High School. You can easily make this recipe your own so don’t knock it before you try it!
Supplies
For the supplies you will need:
- 1 stovetop pan
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp sriracha
- 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 head green cabbage
- 2 carrots
- 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt and pepper to the taste
- 1/2 green and red bell pepper
Preparing the Stir Fry Sauce
To start off the recipe we want to prepare the stir fry sauce. In a small bowl put the 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp sriracha (if you like spice don’t be afraid to add more), and ½ Tbsp brown sugar. Stir together and put aside.
Preparing the Vegetables
The next step we want to do is to rinse our vegetables and cut them. Start with the cabbage and cut in half removing the core. Then take your knife and start cutting up ½ of the cabbage to the size you want. Then you want to peel your 2 carrots and either grate them or cut them (I prefer to cut). The final vegetable to prepare is garlic. Mince the two cloves of garlic into small pieces. Set aside the vegetables.
Cooking the Beef
Now it is time to cook the beef. Heat the large skillet over medium to high heat. Let the skillet warm-up for a couple of minutes then add the ½ Tbsp of olive oil, ½ lb. of ground beef, mince garlic, and salt and pepper. Cook the beef for 5 minutes or until browned while occasionally stirring.
Cooking the Cabbage
Once the beef is browned add in the prepared cabbage and carrots. Continue to stir and cook until the cabbage is fully wilted. When the cabbage is cooked to your liking, add the sauce prepared earlier and dish in a bowl.
Finishing Touches
Once the sauce is mixed serve in a bowl and top with sriracha. Now the meal is complete so you can serve and enjoy!
