How to Make Baked Kale Chips

Becoming a vegetarian is something I never thought I could do.  I think pigs are just as cute as the next guy, but bacon is just too damn good.  Recently I decided that was no longer a good enough excuse, so I now am eating a 100% vegetarian diet.  Baked kale chips is one of the snacks I've come across since my "Vegetarian Enlightenment", and they are ridiculously tasty.  Besides being delicious, they can also be quick and simple to make.  Whether you are a vegetarian or not, I highly recommend giving this snack a try.  Through the seven steps I have listed, you could easily be having yourself a nice bowl of kale chips in the next half hour.

Ingredients

1 Bunch of Kale
Half of a Lemon
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Line a cookie sheet with foil (this is key as it will give the chips a better crunch, plus it makes clean up much easier.

Remove Leaves From Stems

Using a knife or kitchen scissors, remove the leaves from the stems.  Tear these into small bite size pieces.

Washing Kale

Next you will thoroughly wash and dry the kale.  This can be done with a salad spinner or whatever you might have around your kitchen.

Place Kale on Sheet

Now you will lay your (hopefully) washed, dried, and broken kale onto the cookie sheet.  Make sure not to overcrowd!

Shake, Drizzle, Sprinkle, Squeeze

Shake your paprika and garlic powder over the sheet.  Then you will drizzle your olive oil.  Next, sprinkle some salt and pepper.  Finally, squeeze some lemon juice onto the kale.  This will add to the crispiness, as well as bring out the flavor in your seasonings.

Put your sheet into the oven, letting it bake for a good 10 to 15 minutes.  Once the edges have begun to appear brown, it is then time to take out your delicious veggie snack.  Now it is time to kick back and enjoy!
