How to Make Audio Level Indicator

Audio Level Indicator is a device which shows the level of audio by glowing the leds with respect audio amplitude.

In this Instructable , I will Instruct to make your own Audio level indicator with LM3915 IC and some LEDs. We can use colorful LEDs to Indicate Intensity.

The LM3915 datasheet specifies that the IC is a monolithic integrated circuit that senses analog voltage levels and drives ten LEDs, LCDs or vacuum fluorescent displays, providing a logarithmic 3 dB/step analog display. One pin changes the display from a bar graph to a moving dot display. LED current drive is regulated and programmable, eliminating the need for current limiting resistors. The whole display system can operate from a single supply as low as 3V or as high as 25V.

This video gives you all the information you need to build your own audio level indicator.

During the next steps however I will present you some additional information to make the project even more simpler.

Here you can find the circuit on breadboard.

You can see my breadboard traces and it is easy to understand while making.

Place all the components on the breadboard according to schematic.
