Supplies
- Rocket Lamp 3d print data
- Yeelight LED Lightstrip Plus 1S - Aliexpress or Amazon
- or cheaper alternative - Govee Smart LED Strip Lights
Intro
This is the easiest way how to make this Rocket Lamp for your children. If you don't have the time or the desire to solder and program code.
Project site: https://www.printednest.com/lighting
Rocket Lamp is a project whose purpose is to introduce children to the basics of low-current electrical circuits so that they can immediately see the result and have something useful left, such as a lamp for a children's room.
We will show you how to 3d print and assemble our Rocket Lamp for children on a 3D printer. We have prepared 3 levels of difficulty.
Beginner Level - this tutorial - Just buy LED Stripe
Advanced Level - Soldering not required, Smart Wall Plug
Master Level - Soldering required, programming in Arduino IDE
3d Printed Parts Overview
Here is a list of all 3d printed parts needed:
Printed on Original Prusa MINI @0.2mm layer:
- Base_Universal.STL - 1h 51m
- Wing.STL - 4h 23m (all 3 wings)
- Tower_PrusaMini.stl - 2h 59m
- Cap.STL - 2h 11m
- Body_Clear.stl - 8h 14m
- Body_Stars.STL - 9h 26m
- Body_Net.STL - 12h 18m
Printed on Original Prusa MK3S @0.2mm layer:
- Base_Universal.STL - 1h 56m
- Wing.STL - 4h 33m (all 3 wings)
- Tower.stl - 3h 58m
- Cap.STL - 2h 17m
- Body_Clear.stl - 8h 49m
- Body_Stars.STL - 10h 03m
- Body_Net.STL - 12h 37m
Printed on Creality Ender 3 Pro @0.2mm layer:
- Base_Universal.STL - 2h 24m
- Wing.STL - 5h 24m (all 3 wings)
- Tower.stl - 4h 19m
- Cap.STL - 2h 42m
- Body_Clear.stl - 9h 26m
- Body_Stars.STL - 10h 58m
- Body_Net.STL - 14h 29m
Choose Your Design
Then you can choose the design of the body from:
- solid
- net
- stars
then print it on a 3D printer, and put everything together.
Assembly
All you have to do is print Base_Universal.stl and buy a Smart RGB LED strip. This base (Base_Universal.stl) has a rectangular passage for Smart RGB LED strips with a power supply.
- Simply pass this LED strip into the base of the lamp
- Then from the base to the tower
- Attach the LED strip, as you can see in the video Beginner Level or in the picture above.
Most of these smart LED strips can be controlled using an application on the phone. In our case, we use Yeelight LED Lightstrip Plus 1S.
Final Assembly
You are done, enjoy.
