The positive charge is the red rod and the negative charge is the black or in some cases blue. When your car battery dies this is when you will need to either jumpstart your car or replace the battery.

Summary

  1. This concludes the step-by-step instructions on how to jumpstart your car. Please remember to get your car battery replaced or checked by a mechanic within the next 24 hours after jumpstarting your car. If it so happens that your car still isn’t starting after using the jumper cables, your car battery is not the problem and your car needs to be looked at.
